In recent years, the recruitment process has become an important issue for the workplace. Today, many large companies and institutions receive professional support from experienced psychologists in the recruitment process. Psychologists specializing in recruitment evaluate the individual applying for a job by applying psychological tests in many categories.

Test categories applied by expert psychologists in recruitment:

Knowledge Tests
These tests are tests that measure the knowledge and skills that candidates have in relation to the job they are applying for. The level of knowledge of the people regarding the requirements of the job for which they are a candidate is measured. Knowledge tests are applied to identify people who are suitable for the qualifications and requirements of the job. These evaluations are made with tests specific to each profession.

Cognitive Ability Tests
The institution evaluates the individual's ability and skill while examining the applicant's suitability for the position at the institution. Cognitive ability tests measure a candidate's mental abilities needed to solve work-related problems. In general, these tests measures mental abilities such as quick learning, logical thinking and reading comprehension. Aptitude tests can be applied as written and oral. General Ability Tests, Reasoning Tests, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, Cognitive Flexibility, Verbal Ability, Shape Ability, Inductive Reasoning, Three Dimensional Thinking, Problem Solving etc. tests can be given as examples of these tests.

Personality Tests and Inventories
In order for individuals to be successful in business life, their personality traits, skills and abilities must be suitable for the position and profession they work for. Personality tests determine personality traits and provide an idea of ​​whether the candidate has a mental health problem. Such tests measure psychological problems such as depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders, as well as personality traits such as optimism, pessimism, honesty, independence, adaptability, stress tolerance, extroversion, introversion, reliability, and self-control. Big Five Personality Inventory, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), Hacettepe Personality Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can be given as examples for these tests.

Interest Tests
Interest tests are applied to evaluate which fields individuals are interested in and their professional interests. If the person works in a job that interests him, he can be more peaceful and more successful. This brings productivity and commitment to work. The 16PF KIM Personality and Vocational Orientation Inventory can be given as an example of these tests.
